**Accounts Payable Officer (Temporary Contract)**
**Hours**: Full-time, 38 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements

**Contract Length**: Temporary, ASAP Start, 2-month contract with potential extension

**Location**: Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne

**Salary**: $36 per hour + super

We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to join our client's dynamic team on a temporary basis.

Our client, a prominent local council, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

**About Public Sector People**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare, process, and post batches of creditors invoices and credit notes to the general ledger.
- Reconcile creditor ledger balances with statements and initiate adjustments as required.
- Generate BPAY and electronic funds transfers for creditor invoice payments.
- Process, reconcile, and update the general ledger with receipting data from various service areas.
- Undertake additional duties and special tasks relevant to the Financial Accounting team as required.

**Job Qualifications**
- Previous experience in Government, Healthcare, Education, NFP, or Public Sector in a similar role.
- Extensive Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume setting.
