This role is responsible for providing regular risk and change reporting to inform business planning and safety governance forums and includes the end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of each business unit in risk and change management processes, services, and systems.
In addition, this role will manage a team that will act as a key conduit between the Safety department and the business units to identify safety capability needs in the organisation and support the business units with Jetstar’s safety strategic across risk and change management.
**The core responsibilities of this role are**:
- Collaboration with the broader Qantas and Jetstar Group to ensure consistency in strategic direction of risk and change elements of the SMS whilst ensuring Jetstar’s specific needs are addressed.
- Contribute and refine the annual safety strategy to ensure key or emerging risks are appropriately incorporated into the strategic plan.
- Coordinate and support the Safety Department Leadership Team to align specific programs/ initiatives with the safety risk and change.
- Facilitate safety workshops, assessments, safety improvement activities across risk and change elements of the SMS and contribute to the development of safety communications and promotions around these elements.
- Oversee the regular review of risk registers for Jetstar business units and the consolidated Jetstar organisation risk register.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive safety risk management training program in conjunction with the Training Manager.
- Drives collaboration on SMS activities with Departmental SMS Managers to embed risk and change management within the airlines Business Units.
- Increase organisational competency and capability through the provision and facilitation of safety risk and change management training.
- Regular risk reporting, in line with Jetstar and Qantas Group requirements to inform Governance activities and business planning.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for risk and change champions within operations.
- Delivery of an improved risk analysis and reporting system in line with Qantas Group risk processes.
- Provide coaching and build the knowledge of Senior Managers to empower the delivery of improved risk and change management across the Jetstar Leadership Team.
- Encourage and motivate team members to engage in continuous learning.
**To be considered, key skills will include**:
- Previous experience in managing change management functions
- Previous experience in driving change programs into operational business units
- Excellent organisational skills, with ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently, under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Extensive knowledge in airline operations or a related industry
- The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
- The ability to build constructive, respected and effective working relationships with formal and informal networks and work across different businesses with a focus on solution
- Demonstrated ability and competency in managing and interpreting data and using business intelligence reporting systems
- Previous experience managing complex projects and developing / negotiating solution to difficult problems.
