**About the Role
- Support and guide the delivery of career pathways, making Darebin Council an employer of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Support and guide the delivery of actions which create and sustain a culturally safe workplace..
- Support and guide the delivery of actions that attract, recruit and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
- Work in partnership with all functions in the People and Culture team to support provision of advice and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees during the employment lifecycle.
- Coordinate the First Nations Staff Group meetings and identify opportunities for connection.
- Improve the way that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff are supported throughout employment.
- Change the infrastructure to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff throughout employment.
- Create a culturally safe workplace.

**Skills & Experience**
- Experience in community engagement and an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly regarding opportunities and challenges related to employment.
- Experience in planning and delivering workforce-related projects and initiatives, ideally on projects working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and organisations.
- Experience in creating and contributing to a culturally safe workplace.
