Data Quality Officer

Full Time Fixed Term Contract (up until 30 June 2027)
- Hybrid work available between home and Preston Office
- Monthly RDO available

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Quality Officer to join our team at Darebin City Council. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across our systems to support informed decision-making and effective service delivery. Working closely with Business units across Council, you will monitor data standards, identify and resolve data quality issues and help implement best practices in data governance.
- 2 year fixed term (up until June 30th 2027)

- Help steer Council in its first steps on our data governance journey
- Play a pivotal role in the cleaning and auditing of data critical to our councils journey to improve our data driven decision making processes

**About the Role**
As a Data Quality Officer, you will work within the IT team to improve data quality in our key systems in preparation for larger IT change projects commencing soon.

This role will need to work closely with business units across Council to identify data issues, implement solutions for improved data capture and processing of information, fix and resolve problems through various methods and assist Council on our Data Governance Journey.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of council customer data in our Name and Address register (NAR)
- Identify and resolve data errors to improve service efficiency.
- Support the rollout of data quality standards and train staff in use of best practices.
- Collaborate with teams to embed a culture of data accountability.
- Produce reports to track data quality performance

**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant tertiary education in data management OR equivalent skills gained through experience.
- Experience with administering a corporate client database (pathway software preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills in managing property data
- Ability to analyse and resolve problems with attention to detail particularly regarding data content accuracy.
- Previous experience delivering training programs.
- Council requires a current Working with Children Check
