**Agency Overview**
You will be employed by the Health System Support Group (a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation) and working within the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence, located in St Leonards. The Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence is busy and dynamic, with flexible working arrangements and support for robust professional development. The Centre for Health Record Linkage links multiple sources of data and maintains a record linkage system that protects privacy.
**What you’ll be doing**
- Manage data systems for population health data integration in accordance with privacy law, and relevant data custodian and ethics approvals.
- Manage systems and processes for the delivery of integrated datasets to internal and external project investigators.
- Provide expert advice and information on the Human Services data linkage program to the Director, key stakeholders in the NSW Ministry of Health and other government agencies to support key decision making on the linked data asset supporting social policy reform.
- Lead the development and testing of new procedures and processes to source datasets for linkages across NSW government required to support Human Services Reform.

**Selection Criteria**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, and extensive professional experience in the use and administration of databases.
- Recent demonstrated experience in undertaking a data manager, data analyst or database administrator role with a strong understanding of data linkage, relational database technologies and capacity planning of databases.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
- High level skills and experience in using both SQL and SAS database query languages or similar.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in using administrative data or population-based health and health-related data collections.
- High level understanding of information privacy and security including knowledge of and ability to interpret relevant legislation, policies and standards.
- High level oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation, negotiation, customer service, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
