**_About the business and the role_**

Riverlands Disability Support play an important role in the provision of casual support staff to NDIS registered providers.

We have been providing quality staff to the disability sector since 2002.

RDS are currently seeking experienced Disability Support workers who are genuine in their desire to help others live their best life, people who are enthusiastic, can work independently and in a team.

You will be providing support to people with disabilities in various group/share homes in the following area:

- Ryde

And surrounding suburbs.

Shifts will include mainly morning and day shifts with some afternoons and overnights. We also have emergency and on call work.

**_Job tasks and responsibilities_**

The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a team with a person centred approach to residents in group/share homes.

RDS is looking for people who are reliable, punctual and available to work different shift times and days including nights and weekends.People who also take work health and safety seriously.

In providing support to people with intellectual/physical disabilities tasks will include:

- Personal care including hygiene needs
- Medication administration
- Manual handling
- Use of hoist, shower chair, wheelchair
- General domestic duties
- Preparing meals
- Driving residents to appointments, day programs and outings
- Support with assistive technology
- Social support

**_Skills and experience_**

For an applicant to be considered for the role, you must have the following:

- 6 months experience in supporting clients with a disability
- Certificate III in disability or working towards
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent time management skills
- A smart phone
- Good computer skills
- A current First Aid Certificate issued within last 3 years.
- CPR certificate issued within last 12 months
- A current FULL NSW driver's license - Willingness to travel to different locations
- Valid Police Check
- NDIS worker screening check or willingness to obtain before starting
- 2 contactable references
- Prepared to work at least 3 shifts per week
- Eligible to work in Australia
- experience with any of the following is highly advantageous: experience looking after clients with high physical needs, experience in mental health care, farmiliar with AUSLAN.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $36.40 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift
- On call

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff must complete Covid 19 infection control training and follow any extra procedures set out by our clients

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS worker screening check (preferred)
- Australian Driver Licence (required)
