**The opportunity we have available**
As a team member in the Secretariat for Infrastructure and Transport Ministers, you'll have the opportunity to support a high-level ministerial council focused on delivering national priorities. The Infrastructure and Transport Ministers’ Meeting (ITMM) provides a forum for intergovernmental collaboration and decision-making. The Secretariat supports the department in its work through ITMM with state and territory governments to drive national reforms to improve the safety and productivity of Australia’s infrastructure and transport systems.
We have a vacancy at the APS6 level in the secretariat team that supports ITMM and other meetings. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of policy issues working in a commonwealth/state relations focused role. The role also requires extensive liaison with departmental colleagues, senior executives, state and territory counterparts and representatives from key infrastructure and transport industry bodies.
The role is based in Canberra and may require some travel across Australia to support meetings. Flexible work arrangements are available however the nature of the work requires you to work in the office for the majority of the time.

**What will you do?**
As part of a high performing team, you will:
- Be at the forefront of Commonwealth-state engagement, facilitating the effective delivery of reforms nationwide and playing a part in making a tangible difference in shaping Australia's future.
- Advance national infrastructure and transport priorities through effective collaboration with senior executives, officials from the Minister’s Office, state and territory counterparts and representatives of key industry bodies.
- Facilitate the development of agendas, meeting papers, chairs briefings to support the Secretary and Minister, meeting logistics including pre and post meeting preparations to support ITMM and other meetings.
- Manage the smooth and efficient running of meetings and the efficient progression of items in consultation with stakeholders, both in meetings and out of session.
- Contribute to National Cabinet papers on ITMM priorities. Facilitate the secretary-level Infrastructure and Transport Senior Officials' Committee (ITSOC) and ITSOC deputies’ meetings and support other departmental representatives at various board meetings.

- **Excellent written and oral communication skills**, including excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver clear, concise, and easily understood information to diverse audiences.
- **Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills** with experience in stakeholder relationships that achieve successful outcomes.
- **An enthusiastic and flexible approach,** including the ability to adapt to change, resilience under pressure and the ability to navigate uncertainty.
- **Effective collaboration skills within a supportive team environment** and undertake your work with high degree of professionalism, integrity and respect.
