We are currently searching for an experienced Purchasing Officer for a temp to permanent position for a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of RC drilling equipment, RC sampling systems and drilling consumables.

**Main Duties and Accountabilities**:

- Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing and administrative duties;
- Maintain complete updated purchasing / production records / data in the system;
- Prepare reports and summarize data as required;
- Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties;
- Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned;
- Assist in managing and following up overseas orders if required;
- Handling and monitoring of claims to factories and vendors for defectives, shortage, missing parts;
- Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders;
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery;
- Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures;
- Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure that all items are delivered to site/store on time;
- Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers;
- Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned;
- Purchase and issue order in accordance to specification;
- Assist to source for new parts, suppliers or sub-contractors when the need arises;
- Data entry to assist the purchasing / manufacturing as required;
- In relation to the interaction with purchasing, assist the Planner in the review of production schedule and work orders, establish priorities for specific customer orders, and revise schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment;
- Other operational administration duties and cover for other areas when people are away;
- Generally in promoting the Company, and the interests of the Company, its staff, clients, financiers, shareholders and reputation to the best of your skill, ability and judgement and;
- Perform such other duties as may be determined by the Company from time to time with appropriate due care, skill and diligence.

- Proven work experience in Purchasing Officer position;
- Experience in a Manufacturing or Mining Services discipline;
- Pronto experience highly desirable;
- Strong understanding of supply and purchasing;
- Good understanding of lead times;
- Good understanding of supply contracts;
- Ability to negotiate supply contracts;
- Proven experience of running tender processes;
- Inventory management experience desirable;
- Good knowledge of organisational effectiveness; and
- Good IT skills and understanding.
