**Key Accountabilities**:
**About the Role**:
As we continue to grow our operations, there is an exciting opportunity to join our Newcastle team in the role of Water Treatment Technician. This is a full-time opportunity for somebody wanting to learn and grow their knowledge with an industry leading company.
- Identify, report and resolve service outcomes on site including process monitoring and optimisation & collection and laboratory analysis of water samples
- Fault finding and field assessment of ground water quality issues (ability to detect hydrocarbon plumes, Iron bacteria, assess acid sulphate soil presence)
- Analysis and adjustment to ground water quality at discharge
- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of industrial water treatment equipment
- Providing breakdown service and repairs to water treatment equipment and plants
- Maintain quality records, reports and compliance documentation including use of a computerised maintenance management system
- Responding to and rectifying alarms generated by SCADA or through the customer portal
- Piece up pipework and plumb up a water treatment train, fixing leaking fittings and conducting preventative maintenance.
- Providing technical information to clients in relation to all areas of water treatment including recommendation of upgrades/changes where required

**Skills/ Selection Criteria (qualifications & experience)**:
**Essential**:

- Current Driver’s Licence
- Construction Induction (or willing to obtain)
- Knowledge of water treatment within a water and chemical environment and discharge criteria in SEQ
- Knowledge of water sampling and lab procedures
- Experience with acid sulphate soils and its impact to ground water
- Experience in the maintenance of valves, pumps (centrifugal and diaphragm), pipelines, and other electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Sound knowledge of water treatment technologies (including chemical dosing, RO & UF)
- PVC-U fitting experience
- Sound understanding of P&ID’s and shop drawings and an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Experience ensuring construction or mining sites are compliant with their site discharge water

**Desirable**:

- Experience in the Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy industries
- Experience working in a plumbing/fitting/mechanical background would be highly regarded
- Understanding of how to operate a plant using PLC and HMI
- Relevant Qualification in Water Industry / Treatment Operations
- HR / DG Licence
