**TASKS & DUTIES**
- Liaising with familial and medical support structures to ascertain Consumers’ care-related requirements.
- Meeting with Consumers to operationalise their practical and emotional needs.
- Participate in the designing of personalised care plans that best suit the Consumers' needs.
- Providing unwavering, appropriate emotional support.
- Assisting with domestic tasks including shopping, cooking, cleaning, and washing.
- Tending to the healthcare needs of each Consumer.
- Advising Consumers with drug or alcohol addictions of healthier alternative options
- Assisting and involving family members and Support workers with basic support techniques.
- Helping Consumers to participate in leisure activities.
- Documenting case notes in CareFlo and managing the vehicle logbook.
- Running errands to ensure that the sites remain well-stocked.
- Preparing adequate, nutritional meals and assisting with feeding upon request.
- Assisting residents to manoeuvre safely.
- Clearing spaces from potentially hazardous implements.
- Installing assistive devices to prompt self-directed, less restrained functioning.
- Promoting treatment adherence.
- Filling the void to a person and his or her family.
- Advising and assisting with medical needs, such as regular tests or prescription administration.
- Training everyday skills such as purchasing, public transportation, and bill payment.
- Encourage and enhance the growth of individual skills and interests through interests and activities.
**Support Worker Requirements**:
- A qualification in health and social care is preferable.
- Commitment to helping others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic with good listening skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to carry out domestic duties.
- Willingness to assist with basic healthcare practices.
- Patient and emotionally resilient.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Empathic with excellent listening abilities.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Possess the ability to perform household chores.
- Patience and emotional endurance.
- To be able to sustain the demands of several individuals, you must have good time management abilities.
- The power to keep up with the evolving social welfare standards and regulations of conduct.
- The skills to manage both independently and collaboratively.
- Unconditional attitude toward others, regardless of their needs.
- The ability to maintain composure under duress and in tough situations.
- There is a requirement to use your own vehicle.
- There is a need for the flexibility to work a 24hr roster, including Night shift (sleep overs and awake shifts), weekends and Public Holidays.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week
**Salary**: $28.00 - $47.10 per hour
