**Job location**
Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.
**About the Role**:
- The Program Manager has responsibility and accountability for providing high level management and direction for the overall operation including planning, development of staffing, physical and financial resources, and overseeing the delivery of multi-disciplinary services including oversight of the referral, admission, and discharge process.
- The Program Manager will provide leadership and line management/supervision to staff on the Tambo program at Ravenhall Correctional Centre.
- This position engages with other Ravenhall Correctional Centre managers and service providers across Justice Health, Forensicare, GEO custodial and program staff, to improve and maintain the program and service’s management, clinical, educational and support activities.
**Duties**:
- Lead and develop program based accreditation processes to ensure compliance with National Standards for Mental Health Services and the Justice Health Quality Framework.
- Establish and maintain a high quality standard of clinical care that is responsive and tailored to patient choices, circumstances, needs and preferences
- Oversee and assist in the delivery of effective and sustainable therapeutic programs.
- Prepare and manage the roster in accordance with budget resources and relevant Certified Agreement(s)
- Build and maintain effective relationships between the program/team, the patient, their significant others, support people/networks, and GEO and Alliance Partner staff, to enhance the patient’s Recovery journey
**About You**:
- Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery, including the modelling and leading of Recovery focused initiatives.
- Have demonstrated highly developed skills in the mental health field, knowledge and understanding of the needs of mentally ill people and awareness of the issues of care delivery in forensic mental health.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the provision of rehabilitative care for clients in a forensic mental health setting, encompassing mental health care and living skills, along with a clear understanding of the pathway for reintegration into the community.
- Ability to leverage working relationships with colleagues and high level knowledge of current practices to build strong connections, cooperation and collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build a motivated and collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to modelling the organisation’s mission, vision and values in all aspects of interaction with staff, colleagues, patients and external stakeholders.
- Identifies opportunities for ongoing professional development of self and contributes to the development of others.
- Proficiency in using systems and technology for reporting, communication and patient documentation.
**What you need**:
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia - Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

- Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
