**Job location**

Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.

**About the Role**:

- The Mental Health Nurse delivers care within a custodial setting, practicing within a recovery framework and using sound judgement to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and maintain a high standard of patient care.
- In doing so, the Mental Health Nurse recognises the needs of the individual within the boundaries set by the profession, Forensicare and GEO.
- This position works with a multidisciplinary team to provide care and facilitate recovery through the use of evidence-based treatment approaches.
- In addition, the Mental Health Nurse consults, negotiates and liaises effectively across a number of settings including the Aire, Erskine, Moroka and Tambo Units, Reception, Outpatients and ‘At Risk’.

**Duties**:
Delivery of localised tasks specific to the Program you will be working within such as:

- Key nursing care coordination;
- At Risk Assessments;
- Initial Reception Mental Health Screening;
- Provision of individualised and group therapeutic programs.

**What you need**:
**Nursing**
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
