Technical Specialist

**Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a Technical Specialist (GitHub) to lead the charge in managing and evolving our GitHub platform.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring repositories, analysing repository health, and implementing platform modifications to support the rest of TMR.
- Research current trends and patterns, recommending to the wider team on how to adopt these.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to code, repositories, or integrations within the GitHub ecosystem.
- Monitor and improve the deployment process, focusing on automation, testing, and code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to deliver projects efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, data privacy regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements of the role
- High level knowledge and experience in supporting the GitHub platform across multiple technology repositories.
- Experience with Microsoft's Azure DevOps product will be considered advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of how to configure GitHub Actions, Dependabot, Advanced Security, apps, hosted runners and other GitHub technologies.
- Working knowledge of how to migrate into GitHub from other source repositories (for example: SVN, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
