Unlock your potential as an Engagement and Contracting Manager in the BUPA hospital contracting team. In this role, you will significantly contribute to the value proposition by purchasing appropriate, quality services and establishing risk management strategies to support the goal of sustainable affordability with contracted healthcare providers. The position is accountable for purchasing with an allocated portfolio of private hospital providers, managing benefit outlay within the annual operating budget, and for managing our relationships with our hospital partners.

Then this is role the role for you You will be accountable for ensuring the ongoing development and maintenance of hospital relationships with their allocated portfolio of healthcare providers including regular formal and informal engagement with providers (where appropriate) to surface and resolve issues early, identify streamline opportunities and embed stronger, deeper relationships.
**How will I help?**
- Lead hospital negotiations and implement effective purchasing strategies (including identifying providers and clinics to add to the network) with customer outcomes
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with allocated healthcare providers in your portfolio
- Ensuring the appropriate management of all relationships and associated benefit outlay (including signalling early any concerns that affect claim reserving or budget assumptions) for hospital providers within the allocated portfolio
- Problem solve and liaise with the HI claims teams on complex hospital/medical claims and resolution of complex payment or claiming issues (where needed)
- Support implementation of appropriate governance and reporting structures, and ensure appropriate controls are in place to effectively manage contract related risks
- Works in partnership with providers to lead to better outcomes for the customer, the provider and Bupa

**What do I need?**
- Significant experience in a healthcare environment, managing complex and high value hospital contracts ranging from small to large enterprise organisations and ongoing contract management disciplines
- Proven ability in partnership & alliance negotiation and understanding of negotiation strategies and scenario planning
- A track record of achievement and delivery in relevant commercial field with previous experience in public health environments advantageous
- Excellent stakeholder management (internal/external) and ability to build strong business relationships at a senior level
- Deep understanding of the private and public health care systems and industries and the related regulatory environments.
- Deep understanding of business planning and managing outcomes against both target and forecast and experience of working with actuarial teams would be an advantage
- Tertiary qualifications are desirable and skills or training in business management, health service or related disciplines.
- Exceptional written and presentation skills and the ability to convert data into insight and prepare compelling, persuasive reports and presentations suitable for executive and board level content
