**Role**:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Product Development Officer to join their staff on a full-time basis, working closely with their team to improve current products, investigate new opportunities, and develop staff and client product knowledge.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements to drive product innovation.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify product gaps and opportunities.
- Develop and implement product development strategies in alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Prepare consultant briefs for technical analysis and reports
- Utilize design thinking methodologies to conceptualize and prototype new product ideas.
- Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into tangible products, while ensuring feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Liaise with Sales, Marketing, and clients for suggested improvements
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling product messaging, technical specifications, and sales collateral.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and standards related to building materials and sustainable construction.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, construction or materials science is highly regarded
- Experience in product development, preferably in the construction or building materials industry
- Strong understanding of sustainable construction practices, energy efficiency, and environmental regulations
- Previous experience in managing projects is ideal
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work cross-functionally
- Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation
