About the role

The purpose of the Technology Assurance Team is to manage and uplift awareness of operational risk caused by the use of Technology, and to embed sustainable risk management practices.

The Australian Retail & Commercial Technology Assurance team is a 1st line risk assurance team who partners with Australia Retail and Australia Commercial Businesses to provide expert Technology assurance & advice to improve the Business Technology Control and Risk posture.

This team also partners with Technology Areas within the Australian Retail & Commercial Technology Domain to provide Technology Risk insights, Control Operational support and Operational Security trend analysis and advise. We work closely with our ANZx partners to ensure a smooth transition to the new bank. Supporting the Simplification program of work for the Divisions, we also provide cloud assurance and operational risk oversight.

Technology is an enabler of business processes across the bank, so there is potential for technology to be a cause of risk in just about everything we do. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to protecting the bank and ultimately our customers by being part of a high-performing technology risk team.

This role will be supporting the Head of Technology Assurance and Controls directly and will have direct reports. Your role will work with a Technology Area Lead and their leadership team as well as 1st and 2nd line risk teams across the bank (both Technology and Business) to help shape and design the controls suited to reduce the bank’s overall risk profile.

This role will support the Digital Portfolio/Retail Portfolio and associated Technology Areas.

Manage direct reports, prioritise work allocation and provide support the team. (JIRA)

Monitor and Review Technology risk process, perform data quality uplift of the Technology Controls/Gaps and Treatments, and identify opportunities for improvement of compliance and efficiency.

Uplift the Governance over Technology controls for our Critical / Sensitive systems including systems that are supporting Key Business Processes (E2E)

Subject Matter Experts for operational risks, driving awareness and uplift of Technology risk culture within Technology and Business

Support Technology Risk Assessments via Operational Risk Assessments (ORA)

Technology input into Business, Technology Risk profiling and Control Identification, Control gap identification and treatment governance

Providing Input into the Portfolio and Business / Tribe Risk Forums

Raise overall awareness of Technology risk and embed sustainable well managed risk practices, be a Risk Culture Role model

Manage Cloud Transition & Workloads and provide Security Insights

I.AM Amplified adoption activities for Technology and the Australia Retail & Commercial Divisions.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following specialised skills:
Hands-on Technology risk management or Technology audit experience coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge.

Risk Profile Management - including Obligation review, Business Environment Context Summary review, Key Risk Indicators updates etc.

Ability to translate complex technology concepts to suit the stakeholder while clearly articulating the relevant risks

Detailed understanding of Technology Infrastructure and Information Security Systems and experience with automated business controls

Tertiary qualified, with strong technically relevant skills and understanding of technology risk and information security risk OR digital solutions.

Cloud Security & Control Governance experience

IT Risk certification is highly desired (CRISC, CISM, CISA, COBIT)

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships

Experience in one or more of the following domains - digital and technology solutions - including innovative data solutions/security, customer channels and distribution (retail and commercial), lending products, transactional products, cloud, and security.
