As a result of current demands and the continuing growth of the Inventory team of **Austal’s Supply Chain Department,** we have an opportunity for an experienced **Inventory Planner** to join us on a permanent and full-time basis, working in **Henderson, WA.**
**Austal **are seeking a motivated and experienced **Inventory Planner** to join our global ship-building company. The role is accountable to the **Inventory & Logistics Manager** and will manage and control all parts in the warehouses across Australia. Supporting our shipbuilding and sustainment activities, this role is a great opportunity to be a part of Austal’s Supply Chain transformation journey.
**_Key objectives & responsibilities include:_**
- Manage, control and plan all parts.
- Support the parts creation process.
- Perform inventory analysis.
- Control day-to-day inventory operations.
- Determine and direct where inventory needs to go.
- Use Austal’s system to draw out reports for planning and inventory control.
- Develop plans to ensure smooth product flow.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure inventory control.
- Coordinate the inventory plans and procedures across warehouses.
- Ensure that all inventory transactions in the system are up to date and correct.
- Document inventory discrepancies.
- Writing and maintaining inventory reports.
- Analyse the root cause of inventory issues and providing solutions.
- Suggest improvements to inventory control.
**_Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:_**
Essential:
- Tertiary level qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant area
- 5+ years relevant inventory, warehousing and logistics experience within a shipbuilding, engineering, manufacturing or defence organisation.
- Analytical and ability to use Advance Spreadsheet Skills for the purposes of inventory planning control.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
- Working experience using BOM and MRP functions in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment.
- White Card.
Desirable:
- APICS Qualification or Exposure
- Experience in IFWS ERP System
- Experience in the Defence or Maritime/Shipbuilding industry, or equivalent.
