About the Opportunity
As the Facilities Services Officer you will assist in a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management activities to deliver financial, administrative and facilities support services and unit deliverables to departmental clients, including schools.
About the Role
The Facilities Services Officer will have responsibility for the following:

- Participate, with supervision, in a range of project, business as usual and business improvement activities across a broad range of infrastructure, planning and asset management strategies to contribute to the delivery of tailored infrastructure solutions for the department.
- Provide operational information and support to other departmental officers for a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management services.
- Resolve operational problems and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes and systems, and monitor and maintain practices to ensure compliance with legislation, whole of government and departmental requirements.
- Compile and formulate reports and submissions to support the delivery of a range of services and support management of departmental facilities.

- Maintain a hiring system for the management of departmental resources and assist in the management of those resources including monitoring of facility conditions.
- Assist in the coordination of all activities for the efficient operational management of departmental facilities and assets, particularly those relating to real property, building assets, hire, vehicles and equipment.
- Handle enquiries and complaints regarding departmental facilities and assets.

What You Need to Succeed

**The position will suit someone who has**:

- Ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures and industry standards and implement these to support delivery of a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management services for the department.
- Ability to provide a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management related support services and monitor task progress against performance expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team or work unit, be responsible for your contributions and build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and organize work within specified timelines and liaise with internal and external clients to establish and maintain mutually productive relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to provide accurate and timely advice to a diverse range of clients
- A brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (one of whom should be your current supervisor).

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
