About the Role
As the Head of Retail Design & Development, you will spearhead the strategic planning and execution of all new site openings, renovations, and relocations, ensuring each location aligns with our brand standards. Your leadership will drive our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer delight, making a tangible impact on our business and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Mentor and guide a talented team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Facilities Management: Management of repairs and maintenance across all national stores and distribution centres - including preventative, ongoing and as required.
- Forward Planner: Put together both short
- and long-term plans which tie in with lease timelines, new projects and upgrades; always thinking about future goals and projects.
- Safety Advocate: Champion a strong safety culture across all worksites, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of our teams.
- Project Management: Oversee the delivery projects, ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with budgets and timelines.
- Customer Experience Focus: Develop innovative designs that maximise efficiency while also creating amazing spaces for our customers and team.
- Community Engagement: Partner with stakeholders on community initiatives, promoting sustainability and local involvement.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 10+ years in the commercial construction industry, with a focus on retail fit-out. Proven track record in managing large-scale projects and budgets.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team management abilities, with a knack for building strategic relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Change Agent: Ability to inspire and drive change while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, and CAD; capable of reading and interpreting architectural plans.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to connect with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to set clear goals and deliver on strategic imperatives for customer delight.
- Dynamic and hands-on: Onsite visits are a must in this role, so you need to be able and willing to travel to various sites Australia-wide.
