The Manufacturing Team Lead is a skilled resource within the operations team at CANN’s Southern Facility and is responsible for leading key production activities and projects associated with GMP manufacturing of medicinal cannabis products, including harvest, drying, API packaging, and various finished dose form packaging steps. The role serves as a key training resource, delivering and overseeing training compliance for manufacturing procedures and supports the manufacturing scheduling to meet commercial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

**This includes but not limited to the following**:
Maintain and report key department metrics associated with manufacturing.
Serve as a lead for key projects and initiatives related to manufacturing.
Support production scheduling and resourcing associated with manufacturing activities.
Lead and participate in manufacturing activities (as listed above) while ensuring the operation team’s strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Adhere to gowning and hygiene practices, as specified in the relevant facility procedures.
Supports manufacturing team development by serving as manufacturing mentor and nominated trainer.
Drive productivity, compliance, quality and safety within the Operations team.
Establishing and maintaining procedures and forms within CANN’s Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) as directed.
Completes documentation/batch files/labelling in line Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and participates in document reviews.
Participates in the general upkeep and maintenance of the facility to maintain the site as clean, tidy and in good repair.
Works with engineering to make sure that equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fit for intended use.
Lead process improvement within the manufacturing environment.
Participate in deviation investigations and report write-up.
Operate in compliance with site security policies, and OHS and Quality requirements (GACP/GMP) through strict execution of SOPs.
Execute Scheduled Drug Movement events.
Participate in procurement and inventory related activities as directed.
Maintain and restock production supplies as directed.
Prompt escalation of all cultivation, quality, production, OHS and security events/issues/deviations and crop health issues.
Attend weekly team meetings and other learning activities as directed.
Support cultivation activities as directed by the Facility Operations Manager or delegate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications / Licences
- Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in Science or related field (preferred).
- Current Driver’s License (Victoria).

Current Police Check (Commonwealth).

Experience
- GMP manufacturing experience.
- Expereince in leading team production activities.

Experience in delivering training and coaching new staff members.

Skills / Competencies
- Good communication skills, written, verbal and active listening skills.
- Leadership skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Team player / metrics driven.
- Strong attention todetail.

Ability to perform manual labour tasks associated with cultivation events and general warehouse duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 15kgs.
- Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required.
- Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms.
- This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.
