Role Details
Assist in the coordination of access to external services for the identified patient cohort in collaboration with the Surgical Access Team
Undertake administrative functions as required by the Surgical Access Support Officers
Ensure all appropriate clinical documentation has been provided in accordance with operational requirements to facilitate the efficient processing of patient record information and associated correspondence.
Work autonomously or with limited supervision, utilising discretion in the absence of decision makers by establishing work priorities, achieving work targets, contributing to team goals, and working collaboratively and effectively with the Surgical Access Team.
Use organisational computer systems to record all demographic and mandatory information in relation to patient registration, referral and appointment management, billing functions and record management.
Provide assistance to other staff within the team to ensure priority tasks are completed and deadlines met and action any reasonable request from management when required.
Adhere to relevant Queensland Health policies, standards, and relevant legislative requirements, providing feedback on recommendations for improvements to Line Manager.
Comply with HHS wide policies and procedures available and the policies and work practice guidelines specific to the position.
Contribute to process improvement activity and quality improvement activity conducted by the Surgical Access Support Coordinator and Operations Manager, Division of Surgery.
Ensure all clinical questions are referred to the appropriate clinical area/clinician or supervisor.
Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Model a positive culture within the Division of Surgery and Peri-operative Services which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities, and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.
