About The RoleWe are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:
- Working in the social model means you'll work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
- Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
- Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
- Developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilising positive behaviour support framework
- Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
- Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
- Attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
- You'll tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor
To Work As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters or Graduate Diploma) and relevant registration such as the below.
- Occupational Therapist: degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
- Speech Pathologist: degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
- Social Worker: degree in Social Work and AASW membership
- Mental Health Nurse: degree in Nursing and AHPRA registration
- Degree in Psychology, Psychological/Social Science or related field
You'll also need:
- Be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
- Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication skills and be a team player
- Commitment to personal and professional growth
- A valid Australian drivers license
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
