QIC currently has leadership opportunity for a Head of Finance to lead our Infrastructure Investments team. This position is an open term, full-time role reporting through to the General Manager Finance, Investments.
The Finance, Infrastructure Investments function delivers operational excellence for all key stakeholders by rendering specialised financial and investment related services for QIC Managed Funds and discrete mandate accounts, which are ultimately part of investment mandates in the form of either pooled infrastructure products or separately managed accounts (“SMAs”).
The Head of Finance, Infrastructure Investments position is a critical leadership role within the QIC Finance department, with ultimate responsibility to lead a high performing team to support the funds/investment management elements across the QIC infrastructure portfolio.
Role accountabilities also include (but are not limited to):

- Oversight and management of administration aspects for the QIC Managed Funds and discrete mandate accounts across the QIC infrastructure portfolio.
- Provision of leadership to influence and engage individuals to collaborate as a team by setting clear performance expectations and continuously developing the expertise within the team to deliver a high standard of service for the experience of all key stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise relating to treasury management, investment and financial reporting, technical accounting issues, risk, legal and tax matters, and performance reporting activities as and when required.
- Create value through building strong connections with all key stakeholders, with a dedicated focus on business partnering with the QIC infrastructure investment team (primary stakeholder).
- Adequately monitor and manage services rendered by third party service providers in line with QIC’s risk appetite and relevant service level agreement (“SLA”).
- Compile key business metrics in major areas and report on them on a regular basis.
- Execute the data strategy roadmap to deliver valuable financial analytical insights through harnessing data and reporting from QIC’s eFrontInvest system.

Key requirements and experience:

- Degree in accounting/finance, business, commerce or equivalent.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Experience in leading, managing and building high performing diverse and inclusive teams within a positive cultural environment.
- Funds/investment management financial services industry sector experience with a proven ability to deal with complex organisational structures with an advance understanding of tax concepts and legislation (across the Australia, United States and European jurisdictions).
- Strong knowledge and experience in financial and investment reporting, including financial reporting standards and frameworks across a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial instruments (including hedge accounting), fair value, foreign exchange and income taxes (including tax-effect accounting).
- Ability to problem solve and demonstrate analytical skills, with the capability of managing a multitude of tasks and projects simultaneously, whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
- Advance Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills, with an ability to adapt and learn systems skills quickly.
