Procurement Manager

UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.

Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia. Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures. Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.

**The Opportunity**

UGL are currently looking for a Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function within the Utilities line of Business. The role will manage procurement resources to provide procurement planning, strategic sourcing, RFQ development and delivery, systems management, bid management support, governance, and compliance for UGL business requirements. The position can be based in Brisbane or Sydney.

Some key responsibilities of this role will include:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the Utilities business objectives.
- Lead the procurement team to ensure that procurement activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure that the company receives the best possible terms and conditions.
- Ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.

**About you**
- Preferred formal qualification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain & Logistics or equivalent level of learning through job experience in purchasing and supply chain management.
- Expertise in strategic and operational purchasing disciplines at senior management level, preferably with a background in the utilities and infrastructure industries.
- Strong leadership, people management and communication skills to manage and mentor procurement resources and key management and stakeholder engagement.
