**About the roles**
The Student Services Officer is responsible for meeting the needs and concerns of all students at AIST. This role involves the provision of student services including, student welfare advice, attendance advice, student complaints / appeals, certificate management and associated issues.
**Must Have**:
An extensive background in student/client services within an educational environment, particularly focusing on close contact with students.
Experience in dealing with people from diverse/multi-cultural environments
Experience in providing information/services to customers.
An undergraduate degree or equivalent and relevant industry experience is required for this position.
Monitor that students’ attendance is being recorded in the correct format and accurately on the class rolls by the trainers on daily basis.
Ensure students’ attendance is recorded into the aXcelerate system accurately, consistent with the class rolls.
Counsel the students regarding any matter that would be of their interest or concern
Process student requests (withdrawal, deferral and release)
Manage Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for students
Managing student Complaints and Appeals
Issuing attendance/academic course progress warning letters and notice of intention to report
Issue intention to report letters for the non-compliant students.
Liaise with Compliance Manager and admission staff on following up student appeals.
Send the outcome of the appeals to the students and Compliance Manager.
Issue the Statements of Attainment, Transcripts and Certificates upon student request.
Provide documentations to Compliance Manager/CEO in regard to any request from DHA and Overseas Student Ombudsman
Liaise with VET Manager to organise intervention classes for students
Manage the issuing of student progress reports, certificates and Statements of Attainment
