As a Project Manager in the Substations group, you’ll be responsible for the direct supervision, planning, controlling and monitoring of the Substation staff and tasks, working within the Electrical Networks (ELN) Delivery team to help improve quality, safety and efficiency whilst maintaining compliance.
To lead your team to success you’ll need to be personable and a natural at “people management”, using your experience in maintenance to advise and support internal and external stakeholders such as various departments, client groups, and contractors, ensuring across the board that all substation assets meet statutory and engineering standards.
Given the 24/7 nature of the operation of breakdown management, you’ll need to be comfortable working in a very methodical and systems heavy environment, relying on being both collaborative and a self-starter to ensure your team can be forward facing rather than reactive in the management and maintenance of our substation assets.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Ensure completion and compliance to the Electrical Networks Technical Maintenance Plan and associated documents.-
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and/or Contracts relating to services in the areas of routine and reactive maintenance, renewals, system alterations and upgrades and new works-
- Assist with technical advice and staff supervision for Infrastructure maintenance and renewal works and construction projects, coordinating with other areas as required-
- Attend major system failures during and after normal hours and supervise staff in the restoration of services-
- Critical examination of work practices to identify problems and initiate/develop alternative work procedures to improve quality, safety and efficiency-
- Ensure adequate Substation resources are available for emergency conditions to restore services within critical timeframes, and that these procedures are adhered to for emergency works-
- Ensure all information systems used by subordinates are effective in terms of timely and correct information input-
- Provide guidance and assistance to main client groups in the scheduling of substations access and resource availability in line with resource demands and available windows of planned power outages**About you**:
- Technical tertiary qualification or Certificate IV in a designated rail or electrical related discipline-
- Personable, an expert in people management, and an excellent communicator at all levels.-
- Able to identify and analyse risks, and then make corrective actions.-
- Experience in implementing the practices and procedures of the Technical Maintenance Plan, and experience of creating budgets and financial plans.-
- Comfortable reading technical and non-technical documents, with the ability to summarise succinctly for others.-
- Able to schedule work priorities, ensuring deadlines are strictly adhered to.-
- Confident adhering to OH&S and environmental procedures in the rail industry.**Ready to apply? Great**
