About the Role
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
- Staffing and budget responsibilities:

- To facilitate budget and compliance by the efficient and effective use of resources.
- The following positions report to the Principal House Officer/Registrar: Intern, Junior House Officer and Senior House Officer.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care by: To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
- Assessing patients, determining, and instigating appropriate investigations
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
- Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only)
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent
- Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patient's ongoing clinical care
- Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary; and
- Ensure timely, effective and appropriate clinical handover with other staff and healthcare providers.
