THE ROLE
Working closely with the Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Commissioners and Director, Operations, the Principal Policy Adviser, Communications and Events provides authoritative strategic advice on a range of matters to support the Commission in achieving its objectives.
With communications and marketing expertise and excellent planning and organisational skills, the Manager works with a dynamic team to develop and deliver an innovative program encompassing digital communications, media and issues management, speeches, marketing, Cultural Diversity Week, and a year-round program of events.
You will establish effective relationships with key stakeholders, community organisations, sponsors and media to underpin your work and ensure the Commission is well placed to support and advocate for Victoria's multicultural communities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Provide authoritative and expert strategic advice and support to the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Commissioners and Director on matters relevant to the work of the Commission, including preparing for media, functions and events.
- Initiate, lead and / or oversee strategic projects and initiatives that support the Commission to champion diversity and inclusion across government and various sectors in Victoria.
- Lead and contribute to strategic and operational planning, with responsibility for relevant aspects of implementation to support the Commission in meeting its legislative objectives and strategic priorities.
