**Competitive Remuneration & Conditions + Lifestyle Location**
**Lead the ongoing development of this key business function**
**Progressive, Privately-held Group of Companies**
***
This is an opportunity to utilise your experience and acumen to play a key role in
the continued development of a progressive, well established and privately
held group of companies, while enjoying the significant lifestyle benefits of South
East Queensland.
In line with recent growth and the organisation’s future development plans, this role ensures the effective management and ongoing development of the organisation’s procurement function to continually improve (internal and external) customer experience via the availability and cost-effectiveness of a comprehensive portfolio of equipment, spare parts and consumables.
Based at the Head Office and reporting to the Group Fleet Manager, in this rewarding role you will adopt a hands-on approach to: collaborating with key stakeholders to forecast demand and develop strategic resource plans; developing and managing supplier relations; identifying new or alternate products of relevance to the organisation and its customers; supporting effective asset procurement and management through the development and maintenance of related documentation; assuming responsibility for compliance with approved expenditure budgets; managing, and ensuring the integrity of, all processes associated with requests for proposal/quotation, contract acceptance and supply; conducting detailed negotiations with new and existing suppliers; improving safety through both product selection and the promotion of behavioural safety; engaging internal stakeholders to take-up system improvements; developing policies, processes and systems that support the above; and related monitoring, evaluation, improvement and reporting.
This will require you to span a broad range of responsibilities, from detailed operational tasks through to forecasting and strategic planning.
It is anticipated that your relevant experience, detailed procurement knowledge and systems literacy, underpinned by your proven relationship management skills, attention to detail and ‘people, process and outcomes’ focus, will position you well to partner with the management team in continuing the evolution of the group’s procurement function.
Demonstrated performance in a similar role, familiarity with the related modules of an ERP and formal training (or qualifications) in the field are essential. Experience in a fleet management context and with the implementation of Lean techniques will be well regarded.
Situated on the edge of the picturesque Great Dividing Range, less than 1.5 hours west of Brisbane and only two hours from both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, and with regular flights direct to Sydney, Melbourne and Townsville, the 'garden city' of Toowoomba is one of South East Queensland’s best kept secrets. This thriving regional community, Australia’s largest inland provincial city with 160,000 residents, offers affordable housing, world-class health, education, recreation and cultural facilities.
