Ink & Thistle have partnered exclusively with a multi-million dollar commercial cleaning company for the recruitment of a Contract Manager, to take responsibility for the overall operational success of a significant public precinct contract in Melbourne. Our client is an influential player in the cleaning industry, with Australia-wide presence and a proven track-record of servicing award-winning, iconic and culturally significant public venues including sport and recreational sites, as well as education, transport and much more
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, whilst being comfortable in reporting to an executive board on achievement of core Key Performance Measures across your designated site.
This is a full-time position and due to the nature of this contract, we are seeking a flexible individual who is open to evening and weekend work to ensure all contract requirements are met.

**_The Role_**
- **Operations**: Exercise diligence and energy in planning and delivery of site-wide services in a professional manner, including site presentation/cleaning, hygiene and waste management services for both day-to-day contract requirements as well as ad-hoc events.
- **Customer Satisfaction**: Establish an effective ‘partnership’-style relationship with our client through consistent delivery of results beyond expectation.
- **Financial Performance**: Monitor site forecast/budgets to ensure financial success of contract.
- **Team Performance**:Lead, motivate, inspire and drive a team to optimal site performance. Monitor success against Key Performance measures.
- **People Management**:Oversee recruitment, on-boarding and development/training of staff.
- **Resource Management**:Effectively manage on-site resources to ensure successful delivery against agreed scope of works including effective rostering/staffing allocation, consumables and equipment.
- **Internal Processes**:Commitment to the implementation of company policies and procedures, including the effective communication of these to the team.
- **Compliance**:Ensuring compliance with site regulatory areas of Quality, Safety and Environmental certification.
- **Reporting**:Timely completion of operational reports, to add insights/value to business and customer.
- **Innovation & Improvement**:Continuously analyse and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- **Safety**:Champion a ‘safety-first’ culture, whilst effectively managing and enforcing site safety.
- **Sustainability**: Work closely with the Sustainability Manager to implement sustainability initiatives.
**_What kind of person will succeed in this role?_**
- A minimum of 4 years in a similar role, ideally with experience in contract management including planning, delivery and on-site operations - from a service-based industry e.g. cleaning or events.
- Held an operational role with decision-making authority.
- Proven experience in a leadership or people management role - ability to lead a team to success.
- Customer-centric individual - with a passion for ‘going the extra mile’ to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Confident and enthusiastic individual, with demonstrated relationship management skills.
- History of working towards performance metrics and driving successful achievement of KPIs.
- Problem solving abilities and proven track record of strategic / highly tactical thinking.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Technical competency in analysis and reporting.
- Mindset for innovation and passion for continuous improvement.
- Must be fully vaccinated and have (or be willing to obtain) a clear Police Check.
