**mecwacare** is seeking an experienced professional to work as an Engagement Officer-Internal Clients in our Home Care Packages (HCP) team. This role will provide navigational support for eligible mecwacare Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) clients to transition into a HCP, allowing our valued clients to enjoy living at home longer. The Engagement Officer will also be responsible for promptly responding and answering potential client enquiries in a consistent way; proactively outreaching and educating existing clients of the benefits of the HCP program; conducting initial home visits with clients; facilitating and coordinating sign-up for HCP with individual clients; and providing information about available services and explaining the costs associated with HCP. This is a three-year role with the opportunity for extension.
**What you bring**:
- Previous experience in the Aged Care Sector and case management.
- Tertiary qualifications in a Social or Allied Health, Health Science, Registered or Enrolled Nurses with current registration.
- Advanced customer service skills (written and verbal) and strong negotiation skills.
- Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- High level proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent presentation skills especially to community groups.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License.
**Desirable**:
- Thorough understanding of the fees and charges applicable to Home Care Packages.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aged Care funding and legislation as it applies to Home Care Packages.
- Knowledge of My Aged Care service provider portal.
