**With outstanding accounting skills to be able to assist with year end audit you will be working as a Team Leader Financial Accounting.**

**Pay rate: $60.03 per hour, 6** **month term, working fulltime hours as a casual for a Local Council.**

**About Our Client and Role**

Our client, a Local Council in the South-East of Melbourne requires a Financial Accountant with duties to include assisting with year end audit and annual accounts. Budget preparation and management reporting will also be apart of the role.

**Your primary responsibilities will include**:

- Accurately prepare Council’s Annual Financial Statements to ensure legislative compliance.
- Coordinate Council’s external auditors to ensure an accurate and timely year-end audit process.
- Accurately prepare the Financial Statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows and Capital Expenditure) report for inclusion in the quarterly management report to Council.
- Prepare and complete acquittals and statistical returns to relevant bodies in consultation with Managers to ensure legislative compliance.
- Other budget preparation and management reporting tasks as required.

**The Successful Applicant will have**:

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role specialising in Financial or Management Accounting and ideally assisting with year end audits
- Detailed knowledge of accounting legislation, standards, regulations and the principles and practices of accounting and budgeting.
- Ability to self-manage workloads
- Be a team player
- Experience and ability to perform accounting reconciliations, journals and improve processes
- Be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to obtain a valid Police Check
