Head of Data and Analytics

AgriProve is in the business of creating solutions to implement soil carbon sequestration projects at scale. We work with clients, partners and investors to deliver value from managing soil carbon projects, improving productivity and providing new products and services.

We are looking for a Data and Analytics Director to create our foundational data and analytics function. You will implement tools and strategies to translate raw data into valuable business insights. In this role, we expect you to have strong logical reasoning skills and business intelligence. The ability to communicate effectively is essential. If you also have solid industry experience, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to help our business use data to drive high performance and quality.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand business needs and objectives
- Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting
- Define company-wide metrics and relevant data sources
- Select, configure and implement analytics solutions
- Design, implement, Configure and run a modern Cloud Data Platform
- Design, build and iterate on Data Models
- Lead and develop a team of data analysts
- Oversee all analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure quality
- Extract reports from multiple sources (e.g. operations, IT, customer feedback)
- Build systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights
- Keep abreast of industry news and trends
- Lead data mining and collection procedures
- Ensure data quality and integrity
- Build MLOps and Advanced Analytics framework
- Build predictive and prescriptive models
- Experiment with new models and techniques
- Align data projects with organisational goals
- Design, build and deploy BI and Visualisations on Cloud
- Create pipelines for ingestion and transformation
- Develop and update technical documentation

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Data and Analytics Leader or Data Scientist across disciplines: Data Platforms, Data Governance, BI, Insights and Advanced Analytics
- Cloud computing and analytics experience and/or SaaS, PaaS experience. (AWS, GCP, Snowflake, etc)
- Knowledge of SQL, Python and other data languages; familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS)
- Superb communication skills
- Analytical skills and strong organizational abilities
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or a related field
- Solid understanding of machine learning
- Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques
- A knack for statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Good knowledge of native cloud analytical tools across AWS (GCP a bonus)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
