Store/cafe Supervisor

**About the Role**

Black Star Pastry is absolutely buzzing, and are looking for an experienced Store/Cafe Supervisor to assist in leading our busy CBD store located in The Galeries,

This gorgeous space has it's own unique identity whilst still offering the full range of Black Star Pastry’s signature cakes, together with specialist products, and first-class coffee from our partner St Ali.

With this we have a need for a Supervisor to join the leadership team, managing all areas of the store, including overseeing employee performance and the most importantly, the customer experience.

**Remuneration**

$65,000 + Superannuation + $20 p/w transport allowance

**This is a full-time role offering 38 hours a week, ideally with availability on Sunday and Monday.**

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide ‘hands on’ leadership within the store, overseeing all direct employees ensuring that they are trained in all store processes, standards and expectations.
- Communicate position expectations and monitor employee performance including coaching, counselling and disciplining employees in partnership with the Store Manager
- Ensure adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Complete weekly rosters in a fair and consistent manner and within budget requirements.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and WHS standards, establishing systems to ensure levels are consistent and acceptable, communicating clear expectations to the team.
- Ensuring quality of service by maintaining consistent standards, analysing and resolving quality and customer service problems, identifying trends and recommending system improvements.

**About You**
- 2-3 years’ leadership experience in hospitality
- A talent for mentoring others - you love to lead by example
- Passionate about the customer experience and product quality
- Ability to connect with customers and provide an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced environment
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated capability to multi-task - your organizational skills will be a strength
- Motivated and positive team player
- Strong communication skills
- Authentic and down to earth with a genuine love of people
- Love of cake a bonus

Black Star Pastry opened its first boutique patisserie in Newtown in 2008 and since then we have grown into an institution with stores across Sydney and Melbourne.

We are most famous for our Strawberry Watermelon Cake which has become a social media sensation, with the New York Times declaring it “the world’s most instagrammed cake.”
