**Your Role**
Defence is seeking an outstanding senior executive to lead the Financial Systems and Operations Branch in the Defence Finance Group. This branch has the largest complement of staff in the Group and requires a leader that is able to bring together complex issues and work across branches and divisions.

As Assistant Secretary for Financial Systems and Operations, you will be responsible for:

- Leading and executing the day-to-day accounting operations in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury. You will provide a proven track record of ensuring efficient processing and timely payments to Defence members and industry partners located in Australia and overseas.
- Collaborating within Defence and DFG to ensure that financial systems capture complete and accurate data, and are supportive of business processes to provide the necessary financial information for Defence leaders and clients.
- Leading change management across your branch relating to the new Defence ERP system (SAP). This will result in the requirement to change manage a range of processes across the Financial Systems and Operations landscape over the coming year.
- Leading process simplification that is optimised for efficiency and is continually improved with Integrated Service Delivery.
- Extending self service capabilities and implementing intelligent automation tools to improve processes and augment service delivery.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis. To be eligible, applicants must be Australian citizens. This is a security-designated position and the successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain a security clearance at the Negative Vetting 2 level.
