**About the Role**

The role is located within the School Maintenance Plans (SMP) Unit. The SMP Unit manages and implements the SMP program. SMPs are 5-year plans that support schools to: address condition-based defects identified in their condition assessments; schedule, undertake, and record routine-maintenance activities; record and manage asset hazards unique to their specific school sites; and plan their maintenance expenditure. Using their SMPs, schools can budget, schedule, and manage the maintenance of their buildings and grounds.

The Project Office (VPSG 3) will be responsible for: providing one-on-one support to schools during the development of their SMPs (that is, delivering online workshops); providing one-on-one support to schools to update their SMPs (video calls); coordinating and managing responses to stakeholder enquiries (for instance, requests for information on SMP-related questions); developing communications collateral and supporting resources (including policy documents, fact sheets, and FAQs); responding to requests for information from the Minister's Office and VSBA Executive team (including the development of briefings, correspondence, and parliamentary collateral); providing administrative support for programs and projects; and supporting the Asset Management Branch in other ways (as required).

**About the Victorian School Building Authority**

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, the VSBA oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the State introduced free public education in the 1870s. The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs, and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. It also supports schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants. In addition, the VSBA is working with the early-childhood sector on a considerable kindergarten construction program.

**About the Division**

The VSBA's Asset Management Division supports the effective management of school assets through condition assessments, tools for school maintenance planning, by providing training and advice to school leaders, supporting asset information systems, delivering centralised programs for high-risk areas, implementing reform projects to strengthen the system, and implementing initiatives to improve the environmental sustainability of schools.

**About the Branch**

The Asset Management Branch supports the effective management of school assets under the shared-responsibility model. The Branch seeks to ensure that all responsible parties are equipped with the information, tools, and capability to effectively manage school assets, as well as implementing asset management reform initiatives that will enhance the asset management system under which we operate.

**Desirable Qualifications and Experience**

Experience with the Department of Education's Asset Information Management System (AIMS) is desirable (but not essential).
