About The Role
You will support our Wimmera project by developing strong relationships with Traditional Owners and associated corporations, demonstrating respect for Indigenous cultural heritage, and assisting in facilitating approvals necessary for the project and business outcomes.
Key elements of the role include:
- Develop strong relationships with Traditional Owner groups, representative bodies and corporations.- Support the development and delivery of the Cultural Heritage Management Plan within budget and schedule requirements.- Support the development of access agreements with Traditional Owners, providing guidance on cultural heritage management.- Complete due diligence assessments and approve Ground Disturbance Permits.- Coordinate and attend on-ground cultural heritage assessments, alongside Traditional Owners and consultants.- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to cultural heritage management.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Bachelors degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Indigenous studies or a related field is highly desirable.- A working knowledge of the relevant state and federal cultural heritage legislation.- Respect and appreciation for Traditional Owner culture, history and knowledge.- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Willingness to travel to remote locations.
