Location: Parramatta

**Salary**: Starting from $69,049 + Super

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time

What we are looking for:

- A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business
- Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
- A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
- High school certificate or TAFE equivalent with Science/Computing/Geography focus is highly regarded
- Willingness and ability to complete the required training and qualifications for the role including the Cert 3 in Surveying and Spatial Information service
- Minor understanding of First Nations communities and their issues
- Interest in geography and sciences
- High level or keen interest in technology
- Community work / engagement desirable

What you will work on:

- To support the Spatial Science and Modelling teams with future projects GIS (Geographic Information System) data inputs and requirements, this includes undertaking the recommended training to develop relevant skills.
- Support the ongoing management of the Cultural Heritage layers (internal & external) on our mapping database system, Nula Maps, with the assistance and supervision of the Spatial Science and Modelling teams.
- To participate in a variety of projects and help to improve communication and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community / stakeholder groups as part of the First Nations Project team with the support of the First Nations Engagement team.
- With guidance form senior members of the team support internal and external stakeholders with the implementation and roll out of the WaterNSW Reconciliation Action Plan.
- With the support of the team liaise with First Nations communities on mapping of cultural heritage field assessments, cultural heritage risks and project areas etc, to support the delivery of projects.

WaterNSW operates the state’s dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution - for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community. With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
