**Your future role**

The **Procurement Specialist** will assist the Head of the Global Supply Chain in the development of Global procurement best practice policy, process, procedures and associated audit guidelines. Perform regular compliance audits across each **Global Business Unit (BU)** and report findings, conclusions and recommendations. Provide counsel and guidance to Global BU’s on procurement best practice / remedial actions to comply with Austin procurement best practice policy, process, procedures and associated audit guidelines. Support procurement of Global commodities, including preparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ), tender evaluation preparation of evaluation reports, assistance on negotiation, and recommendation. Actively participate in the development of the Austin Master Material Control (MMC) program from material requirements at the Local and Global level.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide counsel and guidance to Global BU’s on procurement best practice / remedial actions to comply with Austin procurement best practice policy, process, procedures and associated audit guidelines.
- Support procurement of Global commodities, including preparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ), tender evaluation preparation of evaluation reports, assistance on negotiation, and recommendation.
- Actively participate in the development of the Austin Master Material Control (MMC) program from material requirements at the Local and Global level. Monitor stock levels globally for major commodities using Austin MMC System.
- Monitor the use of materials purchased for specific projects to ensure any surplus to requirements are recorded and stored effectively for future use.
- To be involved in the quality vetting of new suppliers.
- Ongoing monitoring of all suppliers’ performance regarding on-time delivery, correct documentation, pricing, quality and quantity ordered.
- Develop good working relationships with suppliers always to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Identify alternate suppliers of similar/same or better products.
- Work as part of a team and assist other members wherever possible
- Share standard information (market information review and analyse) with team members (Local and Global)
- Be involved in getting the best achievable pricing of ad hoc products.
- Ensure no original drawings leave Austin Engineering without written instruction from Engineering Manager or Contracts / Quality Manager.
- Liaise with all other functions within Austin Engineering.
- Adhere to all aspects of the Quality System.
- Assist the Production Planning Manager where required.
- Assist Contract Specialist where required

**MANDATORY **QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES**:

**Qualifications**
- Degree qualifies preferred, although a diploma in Procurement and Supply from the Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or relevant equivalent couple with considerable functional procurement could suffice
- Min 10 years of experience in procurement/ purchasing, within considerable exposure to procurement best practice policy, process, procedures and associated audit guidelines.
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft suite of products and advanced level (Excel) and Power BI
- Demonstrable understanding of Pronto ERP - considered advantageous
- Be able to interpret and action Bills of Material / and previous experience of implementation of Material Module in ERP systems (strongly advantageous)
- Good written and oral communication skills. (Spanish speaking will be highly regarded as - to support our BU’s in South America)
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external customers
