As our,
**_Category Specialist_**, you possess the following:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or other relevant field
- Experience in Procurement related activity
- Ability to prioritise work and to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Project Management qualification or demonstrated experience in managing procurement project activity
- Spend data analysis for data and insights to identify sourcing opportunities
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers or other external parties
- Experience in developing category strategies and sourcing strategies
- Experience in presenting to levels of management
- Demonstrated experience in managing suppliers

**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the
**_Procurement Lead, _**you will work closely with the Procurement team, Business Services business unit, and stakeholders, to realise project delivery against the Procurement Pipeline. Key tasks include:

- Manage and support the delivery of high-quality sourcing events, including preparation of tender documentation, conducting tender evaluations, clarifications, negotiation processes, providing feedback on tenders, managing the approvals process, preparation of contract documents
- Support stakeholders with the delivery of high-quality contract management, including support with monitoring of contractor performance and management of contract processes
- Support the management of sourcing and contract data in Procurement systems including the Procurement pipeline and Open for Windows contract ERP tool.
- Work with Finance in the delivery of spend reporting to drive data reporting and insights analysis toward the development of category strategies for spend portfolios.
- Identify, implement, and track value delivery within the Procurement pipeline for sourcing events and in identifying efficiencies in contract delivery as a part of supplier management.
- Work with stakeholders to assess spend requirements against existing contracts for spend compliance improvements.
- Work with risk and compliance to support Procurement governance frameworks for sourcing and contract management events.
- Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders with open and constructive communication throughout.
- Ensure organisational policies, procedures and practices are implemented, complied with and are relevant - particularly in relation to OH&S/WHS requirements and legislation.
