About the Role
As a Category Manager at Bapcor Retail, you will play a crucial role in building and managing designated categories and develop strategic plans for a given product portfolio to enable Bapcor Retail to achieve:
- The most appropriate product and/or service range to suit the needs of Bapcor Retail and its Franchisees Australia Wide,
- Achieve National and Category sales, profit and growth targets.
- Increase profitability of the retail and wholesale areas of Bapcor Retail within the designated product categories
- Manage the pricing and profitability functions of the designated products in line with he competitive market pricing.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage a Core Range and Range Extension Program and conduct regular Range Reviews according to individual Category Growth plans, including implementation at store level. Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage the price file to ensure all products are priced according to the competitive market conditions with appropriate and maintained profitability. Including analysis and action from daily price scraping reports.
- Develop and maintain a Category Growth Plan for each assigned category and incorporate the appropriate level of private label products as per the merchandise strategy.
- Select products and pricing strategies for all advertising events in conjunction with the category growth plan for each assigned category.
- Deliver detailed information for marketing briefs, sign off finished art detail, ensure timelines and processes for development and implementation of marketing programs are met.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills in Category or Product Management.
- Strategic and tactical business improvement.
- Retail, buying and product management experience in a similar organisation.
- A strong understanding of trade practices legislation and other laws and standards
- Sound marketing and merchandising abilities
