Laboratory Technician

The laboratory is centrally located in Collingwood, close to Melbourne CBD and well served by public transport. Melbourne Pathology is part of the Sonic Healthcare group, which has a number of Cytogenetic laboratories in Australia and overseas.

The Cytogenetics Department of Melbourne Pathology is a busy laboratory processing a range of specimens using cytogenetic, microarray and FISH techniques. An opportunity exists for a Laboratory Technician to join the Cytogenetics Department in a full-time (38 hours per week) position for immediate start.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in weekend and public holiday overtime rosters. The applicant is required to have a Diploma of Applied Science or equivalent and should be enthusiastic and highly motivated. Laboratory experience in Cytogenetics or another diagnostic laboratory is not essential but would be advantageous.
