**About the role**

We have a new role available in our esteemed Property Claims division for a Technical Claims Lead, here at RACQ Insurance. Reporting to the Complex Claims Manager, the Technical Claims Lead will be responsible for enhancing processes and uplifting capabilities across our Property Claims division. This role requires a curious and technically minded individual who can conduct route-cause analysis and deep-dive into process, to ensure our claims processes and frameworks are fit-for-purpose. This is an in-depth role that requires a strong technical claims background and a passion for improving processes and capabilities. Further to this you will act as a Subject Matter Expert for the claims management team, advocating and coaching team members to upskill claims management capabilities and regulatory knowledge. Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Continuously forward think for enhanced competitiveness and optimisation of process and capabilities
- Interpret legislative changes and performance information to identify areas for improvements and developments
- Identify value-adding opportunities to assist RACQ in achieving strategic goals
- Coach and develop claims managers to provide professional and effective service to members, through file reviews and constructive feedback, and
- Work with other technical leads and stakeholders on developing and improving how we manage claims.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who is detail focussed, proactive, and is always on the front-foot when it comes to possible scenarios that may arise, especially when dealing with possible natural hazards and events. As a Technical Lead, you will be experienced with a claims background, and has a strong understanding of the nature of general insurance. Ideally you will have:

- At least 3-5 years’ experience within a claims or general insurance claims environment
- Strong coaching and mentoring experience involving developing for performance and upskilling on process
- Excellent understanding of relevant legislation regarding the management of insurance claims, including General Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy legislation and Insurance Contracts Act.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
