**The Role**
The role of Assistant Director Business Operations and Governance is to assist the Director in managing a small and dynamic team responsible for administrating essential functions of the Australian Civil-Military Centre (ACMC). This will include but is not limited to: assuring proper governance and the efficient use of resources across multiple directorates; managing elements of the standalone office facilities such as security, WHS and information technology; be the lead advisor across the Centre for contract management and procurement.
You will play a key role managing the development and ongoing review of key corporate documents and internal policies. This will include critical long term program development and delivery, procurement and contract management procedures, and the implementation of Defence WHS policy. For this you will draw on your ability to network with a range of stakeholders across Defence in areas such as estate management, finance and procurement, as well as your ability to build lasting relationships with external stakeholders in both business and government.
This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your broad skills in working with a diverse team, providing clear and consistent policy advice and communications across a wide range of administrative activities. You will manage and lead governance activities, and provide advice to senior executives on diverse matters including HR, governance, risk, procurement and finance. A key responsibility of this role is providing expert advice on procurement and leading contract management activities for ACMC. Engaging with and negotiating with contractor stakeholders is a critical part of this role and you will develop confidence engaging with stakeholders both in Australia and internationally.
