Maxima is currently seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Officer for a position within one of SEQ's largest Local Councils.

This role is responsible for providing technical procurement support and advice, ensuring that all procurement and purchasing requests are actioned in a timely manner, whilst working within the Strategic Procurement Team to run Request for Quote (RFQ) processes and support Tender Processes in line with Council’s processes, policies and relevant Legislation.

You will work a 9 day fortnight through to the end of October (with the possibility of extension).

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Undertake sourcing processes, market research and analysis and KPI reporting and presentation for customers on future procurement activities
- Support the preparation and management of specifications and tender processes for both low and medium sized procurement activities
- Deliver contract administration services on corporate supply contracts and purchasing arrangements
- Undertake audits on existing contracts in order to provide recommendations that will inform Strategic Sourcing processes
- Undertake the purchase order release and print function for the whole of Council to ensure all orders are raised
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders and seek feedback on procurement operations and services to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with applicable policies, guidelines etc
- Undertake disposal of Council current and non-current assets when required.
Develop, maintain and record all relevant procurement and disposal information

**About You**:

- Diploma of Government (Procurement & Contracting), or similar, would be highly desirable
- Possess a detailed working knowledge and understanding of Disposal of assets, and proven ability to conduct supplier research, evaluate options, formulate recommendations, and maintain confidentiality
- ** Technical Expertise** - Interpreting procurement requirements, applicable laws, policies, and procedures and providing advice and solutions within sourcing and contact management
- Well developed oral and written communication skills

**Must have Australian working rights.**
