We are currently working with one of the largest council’s in Queensland based in Logan. They are looking for a Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Officer to join their Procurement team of 17 people.

About the role:
The Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Officer (SSCO) will support the delivery of high-quality procurement and contracts management services across Council. This role is responsible for providing technical procurement support and advice, ensuring that all procurement and purchasing requests are actioned in a timely manner. Culture fit is important, this role requires a positive, self-starter with a strong customer services focus and willingness to learn and help other team members.

Responsibilities will include:

- Oversee the corporate credit card end to end process including reconciliations and audits.
- Undertake sourcing processes, market research and analysis and KPI reporting and presentation for customers on future procurement activities.
- Support the preparation and management of specifications and tender processes for both low and medium sized procurement activities.
- Deliver contract administration services on corporate supply contracts and purchasing arrangements.
- Undertake the purchase order release and print function for the whole of Council to ensure all orders are raised in accordance with the relevant legislation and Council's procurement policy, guidelines and manual.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assistance with travel bookings.

About you:

- Previous government experience, highly desired
- Knowledge of SAP
- Positive self-starter that thrives in team environments and collaborative culture
- Demonstrated knowledge regarding procurement and purchasing
- Previous accounts experience, specifically in fulfilling purchase orders, accounts payable and reconciling also advantageous
