**About the Company**
Davidson has partnered with a large QLD Government department to assist with recruitment of a Principal Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor (AO7), This is a 3 month casual contract opportunity whilst they recruit for a permanant position. We are looking for an ASAP start

**About the Role**
The Principal Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor (AO7) will be responsible for the following key deliverables over the term of the contract:

- Review and uplift performance reporting for health, safety and wellbeing to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation in a systematic management approach.
- Facilitate the roll out of the Department’s flu vaccination program
- Lead the review and development of the Department's HSW risk profile
- Progress due diligence and risk management online training for executives and managers

Accountabilities include:

- Provide strategic advice to Executive Officers and to the Manager, Health Safety and Wellbeing, to assist with strategic planning for Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
- Research, interpret legislation and formulate strategic health safety and wellbeing risk management strategies, policies, standards, guidelines and capability building resources in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Prepare submissions, reports, briefs and other documentation to advise the Minister, Director-General and Executive Officers on significant issues as required, and in line with reporting framework.
- Consult, advise, negotiate and raise the profile of health, safety and wellbeing across the public health sector, through strategic risk management, leading and consulting with Health Safety and Wellbeing communities of practice within the Department and across government agencies, and with unions, insurers, Regulators and other stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications, Conditions and Requirements
- Valid Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence or equivalent.

The following are desirable requirements:

- Professional membership with the Australian Institute of Health and Safety will be well regarded.
- The Queensland Government strongly encourages all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19, however it is not a mandatory requirement for this role._

**The Benefits**
- 3 month casual contract with the opportunity for permanant employment
- $76.86 - $82.30 per hour + super
- 38 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
- Work From Home (WFH) 2 days per week
- Use Project Management skills to assist a large QLD Government Department
