**Job Title: GIS Officer**

**Contract Length**: 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

**PLEASE NOTE**: Our client requires a contractor to be onsite full-time for the first month with flexible working introduced after that period.

**Your Responsibilities**: As a GIS Officer, you will play a crucial role in the successful implementation and ongoing support of GIS initiatives within our client's organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Actively working to ensure the successful implementation of GIS throughout the organisation.
- Providing initial and ongoing support to staff in relation to GIS matters aligned with Council’s GIS development program.
- Developing and presenting in-house training programs on the use of Council’s GIS.
- Maintaining and enhancing the operation of Council’s GIS, ensuring data integrity.
- Processing and implementing incremental updates from Land Victoria and other State Government agencies, reporting digital map base anomalies to Land Victoria.

**Skills and Qualifications**: To thrive in this role, you'll need:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or Geospatial fields or extensive GIS experience.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of GIS and information technology systems.
- A current driver's license.
- High-level interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering quality service.
