**Your new company**

To promote and actively assist with the implementation of the organisation's Geographic Information System (GIS) in accordance with the developed implementation program.

To maintain and develop the company's GIS system in accordance with an approved program. To provide accurate and timely assistance to service areas for the achievement of corporate GIS objectives.

**Your new role**
- Actively work to ensure successful GIS implementation throughout the organisation.
- Provide initial and ongoing support to staff in relation to GIS matters in line with GIS development program.
- Develop and present in-house training programs in the use of GIS.
- Assist GIS Steering Committee and GIS Implementation Group achieve corporate objectives.
- Maintain and enhance the operation of GIS and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and maintain the production of computer generated plans/maps and reports from the GIS.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or Geospatial fields or extensive experience in GIS commensurate with the requirements of the position.
- Commitment to the Council’s ICT Strategy, with emphasis on the GIS related objectives, strategies and projects.
- Ability to train, assist and advise staff in the GIS area in order to achieve individual service area objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative and have the ability to think laterally in problem-solving in the promotion of the organisation’s GIS activities and functions.
- Ability to work as part of a team environment.
- High level of communication skills in oral, written and graphical mediums including database and query writing experience.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant software packages, including Microsoft Office with MS Access and GIS systems, including MapInfo Professional and IntraMaps.
- Vehicle Driving Licence.
