Waste Education Officer

**Georges River Council is seeking an experienced and passionate waste professional to come onboard in our key education role, where collaboration is the key to success.**
**The Role**
As Waste Education Officer you will develop, implement and deliver community education addressing a range of waste management, minimisation and recycling initiatives.

- Extensive experience working within the waste or resource recovery industry or tertiary qualifications in environmental education, communications or a similar field
- High-level verbal and written communication skills
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to liaise effectively, professionally and build relationships with external bodies, internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously to meet given targets
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute proactively within a team environment
- Flexibility to work outside of and in addition to usual hours of work
- Ability to provide efficient and effective customer service
- Class C Drivers Licence
**Desirable**
- Ability to speak a community Language - i.e. Cantonese, and or Mandarin
- Project Management and Implementation skills
- Local Government experience
